The Sound of Erin is Celtic programs that feature interviews, music, book From noon to 1:30pm is "Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann" with long-time co-hosts Larry and Sean Reynolds. The music based format is primarily traditional music and sean-nos ( old-style) Irish songs. After the Reynolds father & son part of the show, the "Sound of Erin"segment begins at 1:30. Hosted by John Curran, the format features contemporary music and ballads. Followed by Jim MacLeod and Bill Louma, who host "Maritime Melodies" the music and songs from the Maritime provinces off the eastern coast of Canada . Then it's on to"Celtic Country" a program which is just that: Country and Western songs by celtic recording artists. Hosted by Martin "Ceann Rua" Corbett

Who We Are
Larry Reynolds Was born in Ahasgaragh, Co. Galway. One of thirteen children, Larry started fiddle lessons at age 10. Before leaving Ireland to come to Boston, he played with many ceili bands. In Boston he was elected the first chairman of the local branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann (Now one of the largest in the world).
Sean Reynolds
twenty - five years. His music has brought him to many parts of the world. Sean
joined his father on the Sound of Erin soon after it started. He is the graduate of the teaching expertise of 10 time All Ireland champion fiddler Seamus Connolly. Sean & his brother Michael started a weekly session in Brighton Mass. and he also joins his father and brother Larry (jr) at another weekly session in Waltham Ma. Sean also plays the bodhran and is heartily welcomed wherever good Irish Traditional music is played. In addition to the large library of C.D.'s he has at the
radio station, Sean has thousands of celtic recordings in his personal collection at home.
Sean's wife,
Sheila is from County Galway. They live with there four children in Waltham Mass.
He was born in Waterville, Co. Kerry and raised in Co. Cork. He emigrated to the US in 1955. He and his wife, Kitty (nee Catherine Ryan) who emigrated from Ballinagar Co. Roscommon, met in Boston, and lives in Belmont MA. John's son Sean was just voted one of the top 100 Irish-Americans.
John is a member of dozens local & national Irish, Irish-American, & celtic clubs
Jim MacLeod
Jim's parents were born in Maritime Canada. Jim was born in the United States, but
heard fiddle music all his life. He is the president of the Canadian-American Club,
located in Watertown Ma. He is a frequent visitor to the Maritime provinces of Canada, and if you mention a musician to him, he will probably tell you an anecdote about that person, from either personal experience or from stories he heard from home.
Martin "Ceann Rua" Corbett
Was born in Newton Ma. to Irish- American parents. He is a graduate of the Connecticut School of Broadcasting. Also Martin was taught broadcasting by the late great Johnny Most. He is a former member of the New England Weather Bureau.
Máirín Uí Chéide
Máirín Uí Chéide hails from Leitirmóir, Co na Gaillimhe, Ireland. Born and
raised in
this Gaeltacht village steeped in the language . Acclaimed seanós singer
and language activist. Lives in Boston with her family , the Gaeltacht away
from home.
Is as baile aerach Leitirmóir í Máirín Uí Chéide. Tá aithne uirthe mar
amhránaí seanóis den scoth. Tá sí díograsach in imeachtaí teangan agus
cultúrtha ó tháinig sí go Boston. I 1987. Tá sí ag craoladh le WNTN le cúpla
bliain agus an-éileamh ar an gclár Ár DTeanga Beo.
